The iso format allows you to copy discs. In addition, you can download ISO files, burn them and then play them from a disc.Generally, CD or DVD discs are used to burn ISO files. However, with a large file, you must use a DVD-RW or DVD-R. CD discs can only hold up to 4 GBs worth of information. You will also need a DVD burner, as regular CD-burning drives cannot write to DVD discs. Active ISO Burner and Nero 9 can burn a ISO file to disc.
Active ISO Burner
- Click the "..." button to add the ISO file. Select the file and use the "Open" button.
- Insert the DVD-R or DVD-RW into the DVD-burning drive. Click the "X" on the "Auto-Play" pop-up window.
- Select the "Burn" button. Wait until the process is complete, roughly 20 minutes. The speed of the DVD burner, as well as overall computer specifications, determines the time.
Nero 9
- Click the arrow to change "CD" to "DVD" in the "New Compilation" window. Select the "DVD-ROM (ISO)" option on the left.
- Press the "ISO" tab. Select the "Open" button. Locate the ISO file. Press "Open" again. A "Burn Compilation" window will appear. Check for the "DVD Image" icon on the left. Select the arrow to change from "CD" to "DVD" if necessary.
- Insert the DVD-R or DVD-RW in the drive. View the options in the "Burn" tab. Normally, leave this as is. Click "Burn." The process will take about some minutes. The disc tray will automatically open when complete.
