If you are experiencing issues running or installing Norton Corporate Edition there may be issues with the registry, otherwise called the preference files, of the computer or server you are installing to. Before making changes in the registry you should do a backup of your system; changing the registry can damage the computer's software if not done properly.
To edit the registry, click the Start button on your Windows machine and go to the Run option. Open Run and type regedt32.exe and click the OK button. You will now have the registry open in front of you. Find these registry files:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Intel\
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services
Check each of these keys to make sure the administrator has permission to edit them. To check this, click a registry key and select Security from the menu then click Permissions. If the System and Administrator do not have permission you will need to add them by going to the Advanced tab and click the Reset Permissions option. Hit the Apply button and your registry is edited. Attempt to install Norton again.
