How to use Meta Tags in Website

Meta tags are HTML codes that contain meta data about your website. This is background information, as it will not be seen from your actual web page. There are meta description tags which basically describe the web page and there are meta keywords which are words that a visitor might search for to reach your website. These tags are located in the Heading section of your HTML Coding. This article will show you how to utilize Meta tags to your advantage and increase your site visibility on the World Wide Web. Create your title tag. This tag is the most important meta tag you'll have. It should be 5 to 10 words, and somewhere between 60 and 80 characters. Your title tag should include the most important words associated with your web site. Next is your Description Tag. The description tag should be between 100 and 200 characters, or 15 to 20 words. It's usually placed after the Title tag and before the Meta keywords tag. The placement of the tags is not necessarily an issue as long as they are included in the Head section of your HTML Code. Insert your keywords and keep them between 25 to 50 words. Your keywords should be relevant to your site. The content of your web site should be based on, or centered around your keywords. The HREF Title of your website will be seen on the window title bar minus the HREF, which appears in the code on your page. You want your title to be as direct as possible. Search Engine Search bots will read your title, so it's very important to have a title that is relevant to your business and domain name. The Search bots will find your title and assist in attracting users from search engines. Close your heading with Robots: Robot tags instruct search engines as to what content to index and spider. Your Content-Language will show the primary language of your site. The Author is you, or whoever created your site, and the last info you will show in the heading is the Copyright information.
