Most of these errors appear when you do a system reboot. To better explain, lets use an example: You are playing your game and suddenly it freezes, there is no way to unfreeze it except by re-starting the Xbox, but when you restart, you get an error message.
Red Ring of Death Error: This error is caused by a GPU fail. It means the Graphics processing Unit is not working properly. There are several reasons that this may happen. The thermal paste can be dissolving or the chip has become looser on the motherboard. This same chip when loosened from the motherboard may begin to touch the chip next to it and cause the GPU to malfunction. Many people try the towel trick but this should be avoided because it could cause the system to heat up and cause further damage to the chip or the motherboard. Your best bet is to learn to repair your Xbox 360, or to send it in to Microsoft.
The other common error is the E74 Xbox 360 errors, which are somewhat easier to fix than the Red Ring of Death. There are only three things that can cause this error and they can easily be fixed. The first reason may be just because the A/V cable is either loose or inserted incorrectly. Disconnect it and wipe the metal part with a dry soft cloth and replace it. You are lucky if this is the cause of the problem as this is the easiest way to fix it.
Another reason for this error may be because of the ANA/HANA chip which has gotten loose. Your only option is to foot the Microsoft repair bill or learn to fix the problem yourself.
Don't worry, there are ways to fix these errors yourself and this costs much less. Just follow the repair steps and you can fix those Xbox 360 errors yourself.
